Lamb And Chick Pea Burgers


Perfect for your next BBQ with friends, these Aussie Lamb and Edgell Chick Pea Burgers will be winners for all!

Makes: 8 burgers


  • 400g can Edgell Chick Peas, drained
  • 500g lamb mince
  • ½ small red capsicum, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2 spring onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Oil, for cooking
  • Burger buns, lettuce, grilled vegetables, pickled red onions and cooked chips, for serving


Step 1

Place half of the Edgell Chick Peas into a food processor and process lightly until chick peas resemble course breadcrumbs. Spoon into a large bowl with mince, capsicum, BBQ sauce, breadcrumbs, spring onion, parsley and remaining whole chick peas. Mix to combine well.

Step 2

Using wet hands shape into 8 patties, refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Panfry or BBQ for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Assemble burgers with desired ingredients and serve with hot chips.

Tasty Tip!

Use a half cup measure to shape patties.
